I was born in Norway in 1974 and raised in the coastal town of Haugesund, in an artistic home where creativity was part of everyday life. My father, Gerhard Meling, was a painter, and our family also lived in France, the United States, and Spain — experiences that shaped my perspective and visual language early on.
I got my first camera when I was 12, and from that moment, I began documenting the world around me — from everyday scenes to fleeting impressions during our travels. Even today, I’m drawn to that same quiet fascination: capturing honest, human moments through the lens.
From 1999 to 2019, I ran Meling Media AS, a photography studio in Haugesund where I specialized in weddings, portraiture, and commercial work for both local and international clients. Many of the negatives and digital archives from that period are still available on request.
Today, I focus on art photography and the poetry of everyday life, working partly on analog film. My work is rooted in presence, light, and a deep respect for the moment.
